Spotted this on Mark McGuigan's site: Guitarist Guthrie Govan, bassist Bryan Beller and drummer Marco Minnemann are recording a new album under the name The Aristocrats. As you may recall, this killer trio played a few gigs during NAMM week this past January. Ed Yoon posted some great pics and details on Govan's messageboard from the trio's recording sessions at Planet10 Studios in Chicago last week. The band will also be playing the following west coast dates this June (more dates are pending). This is definitely a band to keep an eye on.
The Aristocrats - West Coast Tour Dates
June 18 Sat 8PM - Wild West Guitars' Voodoo Lounge - Riverside, CA
June 19 Sun 6PM - Alva's Showroom - San Pedro, CA
June 21 Tue 9PM (two sets) - The Baked Potato
June 22 Wed 9PM (two sets) - The Baked Potato
June 24 Fri 8PM (two sets) - Biscuits & Blues - San Francisco, CA
This is a brilliant group!! Love to see them, but, alas and alack, I'm guessing no Pittsburgh date. Mayhaps Chicago? One hopes? One hopes a certain Chi-town blogger might attend if such occurs?? ;)

Only West Coast? :( Dudes! You're already in Chicago! Why not do a show here?
