Allan Holdsworth Trio - Palatine, IL 5/13/09 (Pics & Video)
I saw Allan Holdsworth's show last night at Durty Nellie's in Palatine, IL. What an amazing gig. It's so cool to see a guy like Holdsworth playing at a place that's 20min from my house. I saw him when he played there in 2004 as well. He has a great band for his current tour - longtime bandmate Chad Wackerman on drums, and Ernest Tibbs on bass. Tibbs has played with Holdsworth in the past, but I'd never seen him before. Great player - has a cool straight-ahead vibe to his phrasing and lines. Amazing video! Makes me want to cut my fingers off.
