Rich I usually love who you spotlight. I really love your streaming radio. When I went to Brett's site I found it really disappointing. I have a hard time believing he actually has an instructional dvd available. After hearing the likes of Guthrie Govan and Alex Machacek this guy seems pretty weak...Just an opinion...I love your site though...The Chris Poland stuff is killer...ty
Wow, really? You're not judging him just by the live Hey Tee Bone he has on MySpace are you? That first solo is not him, Brett takes the second guitar solo on that track. I don't know man, I think he's awesome. I would give him another chance. Maybe check out the albums he did with T.J. Helmerich, or his Big Sky album. Great player in my opinion.
Brett is not the flashiest stud around, but I listen to both Uncle Moe disks on a regular basis - one reason is because of his taste. For a more shredding-like style, listen to his contributions on Planet X Quantum (the parts that aren't Mr. Holdsworth). He takes over for MacAlpine rather nicely on this disk. This probably wouldn't be a good time to mention his contribution to Nelson ;-}
