Great news! The late great Shawn Lane's "Power's Of Ten" album has been re-released by Eye Reckon Records. This was a monumental record that was first released in 1992 on Warner Bros, but has been out of print for a long time. The new release features 3 bonus tracks that did not appear on the original CD.
Hello.
I'm wondering about this new version. Specifically, has it actually been released yet? An e-mail sent to me from abstractlogix.com several months ago indicated that it would be available long before now. The site no longer seems to have any references to it other than in their news section.
I know that the remastered version of "Abstract Logic" was released well over an entire year after it was promised. Is the same thing going to happen with "Powers of Ten"? Say it isn't so!
Any insight you can lend is much appreciated.

Funny you should mention this, because I was wondering about it myself. This album WAS released, but it looks like Eye Reckon Records it out-of-business now. Their site is down, and I can find no mention of this record anywhere now. Someone was selling a copy on eBay recently. I placed a bid on it but I lost. Maybe it will pop up on eBay again.

I wrote to Souvik at abstractlogix.com yesterday and he told me that he received a letter from the manufacturing plant stating that there were/are some copyright issues concerning this release. They had to stop selling it and return all the unsold copies. This news pretty much ruined my whole day.
I'm now wondering if the copy you saw on eBay actually sold or if the auction was pulled for similar reasons.
Even after his passing, people are still finding ways to profit off of Shawn. It seems like nearly everybody made money from his work except for the artist himself. I hope he's having an excellent time in any possible afterlife, because he surely got the royal screw while here on Earth. And it doesn't seem to be over yet.
Sigh.
