the last miles: The Music Of Miles Davis 1980-1991 is a book by George Cole focusing exclusively on the last ten years of Miles Davis' life and music. Cole interviewed Steve Lukather for the book and it's a great read. Luke talks about the song he wrote with David Paich entitled "Don't Stop Me Know" which Miles recorded live. He also talks about how Mile's asked him to join his band (!).
