Spotted on Truth In Shredding. Harmony Central just posted this interview with Robben Ford. Not sure if they posted this before, since the interview appears to be from February of last year. Good stuff regardless.
Steve Lukather did a phone interview with CNN yesterday regarding Michael Jackson (Luke played on "Thriller"). The transcript is now available on Lukather's website.
How did I miss this?!? Reggie Boyle has a great write-up of Steve Lukather and Steve Morse's May 29th Ernie Ball Session at the San Jose Guitar Center. The piece includes brief interviews with both players (Morse drops some info on the upcoming Steve Morse Band album). Check it out.
I'm back! Checking my news items for the day and came across this great new interview with Jimmy Herring over at Jambands.com. Jimmy discussesLifeboat, his recent tour, and much more.
More Allan Holdsworth YouTube goodness.... In this video Holdsworth performs and is interviewed at Johnny D's Uptown Restaurant & Music Club in Somerville, MA on April 28th.
OHM guitarist Chris Poland appeared on the Black Night Meditations radio show on WSCA 106.1 FMin Portsmouth, NH earlier the week. The interview can now be heard online at the following location:
Ulli Schiller (Manager & Engineer SAE Institute Frankfurt) conducted this great interview with Steve Lukather at this year's Musikmesse in Frankfurt (think of Musikmesse as a European version of the NAMM show).
Guitar Jam Daily has posted part 2 of an audio interview with guitarist Prashant Aswani. Prashant talks about his melodic approach, his newest project, and more.
Fuzzy Bogart has posted a classic 2-part Michael Landau interview from the mid-90s (conducted by Steven Rosen) that all Landau fans should check out. This was right in the middle of the Burning Water/Raging Honkies era, and contains tons of cool gear talk. Teddy Landau and Abe Laboriel Jr. from the Honkies appear in the second half of the piece as well. This interview was previous posted on the now-mothballed Michael-Landau.com site.
Jenn over at Random Chatter Music has posted an excellent interview with Barrett Tagliarino. It's an extensive piece touching on many topics, including Barrett's new album Throttle Twister, which includes guests Paul Gilbert and Scott Henderson.
UKZ bandmates Marco Minnemann, Alex Machacek, and Trey Gunn discussing Minnemann's upcoming uber-project Normalizer 2 with Modern Drummer magazine. What exactly is Normalizer 2 you ask? Machacek, Gunn, John Czajkowski, Mike Keneally, and others composed their own music over a pre-recorded 52 minute Minnemann drum solo. The resulting album (Normalizer 2) will be released on Abstract Logix sometime this year. I have an advance copy of Czajkowski's version (entitled "West ZooOpolis"), and can tell you it's a stunning piece of music. I can't wait for the full album to hear what the other guys have done. Check out this interview for more details...
Steve Morse Band: Stand Up I've been revisiting this one lately. My favorite Steve Morse Band album. Worth it for "English Rancher" and "Golden Quest" alone. Guests include Eric Johnson, Albert Lee, and Peter Frampton.
