I wouldn't say Mike Landau is getting mellow with age but to my ears he's getting ever more "tasty", subtle and self-confident lately.
He obviously doesn't need to put forward that wild man attitude no more which he - as it seemed - had cultivated in his Raging Honkies days and later on (possibly to put something against the role of the more "obedient" session man; so this was quite understandable in a way).
I've always loved his playing throughout the years but I find myself relishing it even more now.
