Guitarists Robben Ford and Michael Landau have teamed up with drummer Gary Novak and bassist Jimmy Haslip for a new band project entitled Trial By Fire. The group has already recorded an album for Mike Varney's label to be released this coming spring. This killer group has also scheduled a string of live shows starting next month. Saw Robben and Michael at Yoshi's a few years ago, fantastic. Already reached my limit for January with Steve Morse and Holdsworth. So excited an album is coming out from these characters.

I'm going for sure. Without hearing anything yet, I make the assumption that it will be a less blues / more fusion sort of affair (like Jing Chi, maybe?).
With the personnel involved, they could play polkas and I'm sure it would kill.
