Monster player! I still love the Upside-Downside album big time. Got to see him doing that material in about '89, with Dennis Chambers and Bob Berg (rip).
A club in Seattle. I was sitting at a little table when suddenly this guitar case bumps into my leg. I look up and it's Stern in a trench coat trying to get through.
When Chambers did his solo, the rest of the band went and hung out at the bar for awhile. The most powerful jazz drummer ever, with endless endurance.
